Our Vows

Officiant, Eric Armstrong:
Ladies and gentlemen, family, and friends,

Today, we are gathered here to celebrate not just the union of two souls, but a remarkable journey of love, patience, and fate. The story of Brandon and Cha Cha is not just one of love found, but of love rediscovered.

Their tale began many years ago when, as teenagers, they found each other amidst the innocence and wonder of youth. A bond formed, but as life often does, it took them on separate paths, leading them away from each other's embrace for a staggering 17 years. Yet, despite the time and distance, the flame of their love endured, quietly flickering in the depths of their hearts.

During those years apart, Brandon and Cha Cha grew in ways they could have never imagined. They navigated life's challenges, pursued their passions, and evolved into the individuals standing before us today. Each experience shaped them, molding their character, and enriching their souls.

In reflecting on their remarkable journey, I'm reminded of the profound Latin phrase, "Amor Fati" – the love of fate. It speaks to the acceptance and embrace of the events in our lives, both the joys and the sorrows, as essential parts of our journey. Brandon and Cha Cha, your reunion is a testament to the power of this concept, as you have embraced not only the love you share but also the twists and turns that brought you back together.

And then, as if guided by some unseen force, fate intervened, weaving their paths back together once more. A vivid dream prompted Cha Cha to reach out to Brandon and reconnect. It was as if the universe conspired to reunite these two souls, reminding them of the love they once shared and the bond that remained unbroken.

Today, as you stand here pledging your love and commitment to each other, remember the lessons learned during your time apart. Cherish the growth you've experienced individually, for it has prepared you to embark on this new chapter together.

Brandon, my best friend, and Cha Cha, my Sister’s Baby’s Daddy’s sister, your love story is a testament to the enduring power of friendship and the intricate web of connections that weave through our lives. It's truly an honor to stand here before you, not only as your officiant but also as a friend who has witnessed the highs and lows of your lives.

May your love continue to defy time and distance, and may you always hold onto the belief that true love, guided by fate, will always find its way home.

Our Vows

Dear Chacha,

It’s very surreal to be here with you, in Galveston, getting married. We were here almost 20 years ago as kids. Back then we had this unspoken connection with each other that felt so powerful but I was too young and scared to understand what it was. When you found me again 17 years later, that same feeling I used to get as a teenager, lit up like a wildfire and now I understand what it was. It was my soul recognizing that you are my soulmate. It was a love so powerful that it endured such a long with us being apart, and when we reconnected it’s as if we were never apart at all. I’m so grateful, so happy, so in love, and I will never let you go again. Theres a song I sent you shortly after we reconnected that has lyrics in it that I knew I would put in my vows even before I proposed to you.

If you’re awake then I am too, If you’re lost then I’ll find you,
If you’re hurt then I’ll fix you, If you go blind I’ll describe the view,
If you can’t feel then I’ll hold you, If you fall, know I’ve got you,
Because It’s always been you, I love you.

Dear Brandon,

I found it difficult to write original and meaningful vows to you. Not because I don’t feel madly in love with you, wholly committed, completely and utterly grateful that a man like you will be my husband, but because we all know that these are just words. Words that could never truly express my overwhelming love for you and the depth of our connection, passion and commitment to each other. Words that can hardly describe the pure magic and bliss that being together has brought us.

You are the most precious man I’ve ever known. I will thank God everyday for bringing you back to me and I will cherish you forever. I promise to you that I will do everything to protect this love and to always be the woman you deserve.
