Our Vows

Dear Chacha,
It’s very surreal to be here with you, in Galveston, getting married. We were here almost 20 years ago as kids. Back then we had this unspoken connection with each other that felt so powerful but I was too young and scared to understand what it was. When you found me again 17 years later, that same feeling I used to get as a teenager, lit up like a wildfire and now I understand what it was. It was my soul recognizing that you are my soulmate. It was a love so powerful that it endured such a long with us being apart, and when we reconnected it’s as if we were never apart at all. I’m so grateful, so happy, so in love, and I will never let you go again. Theres a song I sent you shortly after we reconnected that has lyrics in it that I knew I would put in my vows even before I proposed to you.

Dear Brandon,
I found it difficult to write original and meaningful vows to you. Not because I don’t feel madly in love, wholly committed and completely and utterly grateful that a man like you will be my husband, but because these are just words. Words that we’ve already shared and shown over and over. Words that could never do justice to the overwhelming power of our love and connection, passion and commitment, pure magic and bliss. You are the most precious man I’ve ever known. I promise to you that I will give all of my effort everyday to express my love in words, and in actions. That I will take care of myself so that I can always be the woman you deserve and I will cherish you and thank god everyday that I get to be so lucky.
